600 samples collected from Kalimati Fruit and Vegetable market

The government officials on MAy 14th has  collected 600 nasal, throat swabs and blood samples from people working at Kalimati Vegetable and Fruit Market, This is one of the core business areas inside Kathmandu Valley, where thousands of people have been gathering every  day even after the nationwide lockdown .

Fruits and vegetables are  transported from here across the country . Hundreds of vendors supply fruits and vegetables to retailers from here.

According to Dhurba Narayan Manandhar, ward chairman of the locality, said around 4,000 to 5,000 people visit the market daily on an average.

The Officials are planning to collect nearly 1000 samples in next two days. In this all the pharmaceutical shops, security personnel, journalists and local leaders will be included because they come in regular contact with others.
