Covid-19 cases in Gandaki, increased to 838

In Gandaki, 19 cases of COVID - 19 were confirmed in 32 people on Saturday morning. According to a statement issued by the Gandaki Provincial Health Directorate on Saturday morning, 22 people have been infected in Syangja, eight in Baglung and two in Nawalparasi East.

According to the directorate, 13 men and 6 women from Syangja Arjunchaupari village, 7 men from Kathekhola village of Baglung, 1 man from Dhorpatan municipality, one man from Rapti Health Science Pratishtha Dang and one man from Waling Municipality of Syangja were tested in the laboratory of National Public Health Laboratory, Kathmandu. Two men from Nawalpasari Hupsekot village tested positive for corona infection.



Along with the newly infected, 212 people from East Nawalparasi, 158 from Syangja, 151 from Baglung, 102 from Tanahun, 77 from Gorkha, 70 from Parbat, 35 from Kaski, 17 from Lamjung, 14 from Myagdi, 1 each from Manang and Mustang have been infected. Two men have died in Syangja and 12 in East Nawalparasi, 22 in Syangja, 24 in Baglung, 9 in Tanahu, 18 in Gorkha, 11 in Parbat, 19 in Kaski, 2 in Myagdi and 4 in Lamjung.

According to the Gandaki Health Directorate, the number of infected people is also increasing as the scope of testing has increased. Earlier, swab test was done using only one PCR machine, but now the test is increasing with the addition of new machine. Similarly, after taking time to test in Pokhara, swabs were sent to Kathmandu, Bharatpur and other places for testing. So far, 9,458 swabs have been collected in Gandaki, 838 cases of corona infection, 7,958 cases of corona infection and 662 cases are yet to be tested.
